Mentorship Program

Helping high school students build the college applications — and the character — that change the world.

Students Helping Students

The OTRB4H Mentorship Program connects high school students with the volunteer hours, community service experience, and internship opportunities they need to build a standout college application.

But it doesn't stop there. The students we mentor turn around and mentor others — high schoolers guide middle schoolers, middle schoolers guide elementary students. That's how we change the world: one generation lifting the next.

What We Provide

Program Offerings

Everything a high school student needs to build a college application that stands out — and a character that lasts a lifetime.

1-on-1 Mentorship

Direct mentoring from experienced adults and peer leaders. We guide students through goal-setting, accountability, and personal growth — the same principles OTRB4H was built on.

Volunteer Hours

Structured volunteer opportunities that count toward school and college application requirements. Students earn verified hours through real community service work in Kern County.

Community Service

Organized community service programs aligned with OTRB4H's outreach mission. Students participate in events and initiatives that make a real difference — and look great on applications.

Internships

On an as-needed basis, we place motivated students in internship roles within OTRB4H and partner organizations — real experience, real responsibility, real resume builders.

Letters of Recommendation

Students who complete the program in good standing are eligible for letters of recommendation from OTRB4H leadership — written by adults who know them and their work firsthand.

Peer Teaching

High schoolers mentor middle schoolers. Middle schoolers mentor elementary students. Teaching is the highest form of learning — and colleges take notice when a student leads others.

The Process

How It Works

Simple steps from application to college-ready.

1

Apply & Connect

Reach out to OTRB4H via phone, email, or social media. We'll schedule a short conversation to understand your goals and fit you into the program.

2

Get Matched

We pair you with a mentor and identify the right service opportunities, internship openings, or peer-teaching assignments based on your schedule and goals.

3

Show Up & Do the Work

Accountability, responsibility, and availability — our three pillars. Attend your assignments, track your hours, and grow through the experience.

4

Become a Mentor

Once you've completed your hours, you don't leave — you give back. Mentor the next group of students and multiply the impact you've already made.

5

College-Ready

Walk into your college applications with verified hours, a letter of recommendation, real experience, and a story worth telling. We helped make it happen.

"The three greatest abilities are Accountability, Responsibility, and Availability."
— Jason C. Overs, Director, OTRB4H INC.
